Well, there seems to be one reason for this… the Russians wanted to test the shells, or better said, the upgrades they have been working on.

From what I am getting, during the past decade or so Moscow has been working on upgrading and refining the 2K25 Krasnopol- especially it’S guidance mechanisms.

now, considering that not only did the shells appear in a time when there is no high-intesity fighting, and that their use, even in these conditions, has been very limited ( It would be interesting to see exactly when were these shells used, in what circumstances, and under what weather conditions) — at times without any “logical” reason for using them…. I am starting to believe that the Russians wanted to see how the shells ( or shall we say how the upgrades) will function on the battlefield but, they did not want to risk using them in critical situations… and, it seems that they have some more work to do to fix the guidance of these versions.

The shells were also used in Hmeyim on one or two occasions burt, again, the shells deployed in Hmeyim seem to have come from older stocks- the ones whose functioning is pretty well known…
