Through the years , I have met quite a number of Jews who do not live in Israel and who are extremely critical of Tel-aviv’s policies towards the Palestinians. some of the told me that they see these policies ( as well as other right-wing influences coming from Netanyahu and the bunch) as the biggest danger to Jews worldwide. and, this is the logic they followed.

for decades After WWII, the world, as a whole, had a “soft spot” for jews, and Israel, mainly coming from a guilt complex involving the holocaust — it was in this period that Israel, as a Jewish state, managed to get the sympathy of the world, and it’S support during the 1967, 1972… etc wars, while the jews outside Israel were , in general, accepted and treated better than ever before. … Yet, during the past 30 years, the perception has started to change and the change is accelerating in the past decade- it is exactly the policies of Israel, the creation of an open-air prison in Gaza, the building of the colonies in he West bank, the pointless killings of unarmed protesters and, most of all, the apparent influence of “Israeli lobby” in the US and some European states which has been stopping any kind of action against these violations ( if anything, Trump's administration seems to have been supporting them) which have made most individuals loose any sympathy they had towards Israel, and made them look at the Jews, in-general, as some sort of a “hidden enemy”…. Add to this the endless anti-Semitic propaganda which uses these details to it’s maximum- and we are left with a recipe for disaster. t

Now… these Jews believe that if TEl-Aviv continues like this , then we are a generation away from going back to the period between the two world-wars when the Jews were considered the root of all evil ( which controls the banks and politics) and have been marginalized ( in the best of cases) from all spheres of normal life…. And I tend to agree with them….. Israel’s policies of the past decades id not win it many friends, on the contrary, and while Tel aviv itself keeps equating Jews and Israel , people will do the same and start blaming the Jews in general ( most of whom have never had anything to do with Israel) for all the bad things Tel Aviv’S policies have caused… IF Israel is not careful, it might soon find itself in a position from which the “Jewish state” which was supposed to be the salvation of all the Jews, turns into the Nemesis which will erase all the sympathy, understanding and support stemming from the Holocaust and instead it will make the Jews the pariahs of the societies they are in- again.
