Or you can simply ignore the whole thing ( as anyone with any brains should)… and then it won’t effect how you feel.

I mean, what is the point? How can any, normal , human being be so influenced by what is basically a corporate invention ( which has spread through the world, thanx mainly to Hollywood rom-coms) as to actually experience changes of mood just because someone or something told them that on a certain day they should feel a certain way, act a certain way or be in a certain social set-up….

IF anyone said.. “You should feel miserable for not being in a relationship on 17th of august”, or 15th of March, or 05th of December… you would look at them as if they were slightly “out there”… But, when it comes to 14th of February, then it matters… }WHERE IS THE LOGIC

If a person is in a relationship ( a normal happy one) then he/she shouldn't need a “special day” to mark it, especially if the “special day” is the same for everyone… We should not have to wait for one certain day to buy someone presents, or take them out…. And if we do — then there is something wrong with the relationship…

And BTW- Fuck the peer pressure…. I have a feeling that a whole lot of people are “into” this valentines BS just because their surroundings are telling them they should be… IF you are a woman, and no one asked you out on valentines, no one sent you flowers or stuffed toys… IT IS OK… the women parading the presents they got are the ones with problems… DO not forget, they are only parading them because that IS the only time of the year that anyone pay attention to them- so they milk it..

IF you are a man and you do not have a date on Valentines… It is OK… all the idiots shoving their “dates” are doing it because for the rest of the year they will be getting No-s when they ask anyone out ( they would have gotten a NO this time too, but the women that accepted have become desperate since no one invited them and their girlfriends are already showing off their presents and talking about the “romantic diners” they will have)

It is like with all the characters that end up expressing their undying love for another in a very public manner over social networks etc… They are doing it so that they appear happy to others —while most people know that any relationship that needs such public displays is doomed…

I have a deep suspicion that the only ones who are actually happy with valentines day are the companies selling flowers, chocolates and the silly toys with inscriptions that should be cute but are in fact simply un-inspired…
