One small note…. ( and I had this discussion in many forms ) ..
The American Sniper is not a pro-war movie, neither does it make chris Kyle into a hero. At least, I never saw it in the film.. IF anything, Eastwood, shows the pure futility of the Wars Kyle was in… He is shown as admired by his fellow soldiers- but he is no hero- and, after the initial “patriotic” phase, kyle also has no idea why is he still going back- besides the pure psychoses of “having” to go back to the war-zone —
and after it is done… I think no one in their right mind walked out of the theater thinking “I wanna be just like that guy”- quite the opposite
At least , that is what I saw in the movie…
