I do not even see it as “optimistic” vs “pessimistic” outlook …. it is simply, in the best-case scenario, stupidity ( in the name of appearing “cool”) . And, in the worst case… well, nothing more than simple selfishness…

For, I really do not think that anyone who has any kind of responsibility towards others ( children, parents, spouses.. hey- ANY KIND…) can think along those lines. And if they do… there is something really wrong with them.

SO, what are we left with : Some spoiled brat doing mental excersizes, or, a second-hand philosopher trying to make him/her self appear interesting. ( BTW- your lines: “ Or it’s too much of a drag to die. Light a cigarette and put on a beret.”.. made me laugh pretty loud.)
