excellent article. And extremely ( and unfortunately) true….

One thing I have also noticed in dealing with all sorts of characters ( both players and observers) in all sorts of societies, is that usually the more prone someone is towards expressing xenophobia, racism, sexism or chauvinism the more likely the same person will be expressing homophobic or anti LGBT ideas…

And yes…. as with racism, fascism, extreme nationalism ( read chauvinism) … the , “silent LGBT bigots” who pretend there is no problem are extremely damaging …

There is one more thing though, which can be both good and bad, popping up in the past years…( at least it appears so to my heterosexual eyes) . the “pro-LGBTQ” individuals who are “pro” because it has become , in a way, fashionable to appear as if you are a supporter of Queer rights among most of the “Liberal” crowds… I have seen, ( and still see) a lot of individuals who have become very loud in speaking of queer rights, but who had completely different stands just a few years back. Privately, none of them actually changed their views- but, publicly- they seem to be speaking of “helping” or “supporting” the LGBTQ community …. This might, in another few years, actually be good, since it may influence the thinking of new generations… but, it can also be very bad since it is not the real kind of support or understanding and, it can change in an instant the moment the current political and public “fashion” changes…
