The last century saw women fighting for the Republic in the Spanish Civil War, in the Russian Army during World War I and World War II, with the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army in the Vietnam War, among Fidel Castro and Che Guevara’s band of rebels in the Cuban Revolution and in numerous other conflicts.

A quick note…. this list could be expanded to include KLA ( UÇK- the kosovar liberation army- which fought the Serbian occupation in the late 90-s) …
About 1/3rd of the volunteers were woman, and, although some of them served in auxilary positions, as nurses, in the HQ, on computers.., most were fighting alongside the men, and they have proven to be as good of a soldier, and as ( or sometimes more) lethal than any man…
